At the outset of this amazing book is a promise unlike any other in Scripture. In Revelation 1:3 we read, “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.”

As far as I know, this is the only book of the Bible that makes the promise that whoever reads it will be blessed! Isn’t it ironic that it’s also one of the most neglected books of the Bible? It’s clear why the enemy has done so much to turn our eyes away from this book. I can say from firsthand experience that as a result of studying Revelation, I have a much deeper understanding of Scripture, a greater confidence that every original word of the Bible is divinely inspired, a keener understanding of our times, and a more passionate expectation of the Lord’s return. These blessings come directly from reading Revelation, and they impact my daily walk with the Lord in profound and practical ways.
