So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see.

Revelation 3:18

The world is a scary place right now, and many people are wondering what is going on. There has always been instability but never on the global scale that we see in our day. It seems like the world is going to hell in a handbasket. I don’t really know what a handbasket is, but the term seems to fit.

Is this just the way things are, or are these signals that history is drawing to a close? Suddenly, the notion isn’t that crazy. Even secular futurologists are sounding the alarms as they see converging lines of danger and instability around the world. TV shows and movies with apocalyptic themes abound. These trends are clearly on the minds of everyone who has turned on the news the past few years. It’s time to talk about this elephant in the room.

So, should we buy space in a luxury underground community bunker in fear? (I’m not joking, they’re actually out there.) Should we begin stocking up on food, ammo, and medicine? Or should we live with boldness, hope, joy, expectation, and confidence in a soon coming King? Can the Bible shed light on what we are witnessing in the world today and provide clear marching orders?

My goal is to make complex things simple and move people from a state of ambiguity and confusion about our day, to one of courage and clarity. So much is happening so fast, it is important for believers to have a firm basic grasp on eschatology and Bible prophecy—both topics that seem too complex or somewhat irrelevant to many Christians in our day. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Do some investigation yourself. Look at what is going on the world. Study carefully what Scripture says about the end times. Research your trusted sources to see what they are saying. Most importantly, pray for the Holy Spirit to give you insight and discernment. Scripture talks about “having eyes to see and ears to hear.” Pray for such eyes and ears! It’s never been more important!
